40 Under 40: Gabrielle Leon

Gabrielle Leon, 32, is the program associate at the Schusterman Foundation.

Gabby Leon has been a program associate at the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation at Atlantic Station since 2016. A 2007 graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in business administration, Leon moved to Atlanta in 2010 to work as the Director of Alumnae Engagement at Phi Mu Fraternity. In 2014, she took a position as assistant to Spanx founder Sara Blakely at Spanx and quickly became active in the Jewish community.

She was a co-chair of American Jewish Committee’s ACCESS young leadership division board from 2014 to 2016 and was a member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta’s Jacobson Leadership Institute Class of 2015. In 2016 she received the AJC Atlanta ACCESS Award, a volunteer honor given annually to an AJC Atlanta member who goes above and beyond her role. She lives in Buckhead with her fiancé, fellow 40 Under 40 member Mark Spatt.

“Today, Atlanta is thinking very differently about what it means to be Jewish and to be part of a community,” Leon said. “The Atlanta Jewish community is constantly investing in young people in addition to creating new and innovative Jewish programs to provide opportunities for individuals to engage in Jewish culture, values and religion in a way that is meaningful to each individual.”
