American Jewish Committee to Honor Waller
Kathy Waller will receive the prestigious National Human Relations Award on Nov. 19.
The American Jewish Committee (AJC) Atlanta will present its prestigious National Human Relations Award on Nov. 19 to Kathy Waller, recognizing her extraordinary leadership, commitment to civic engagement, and dedication to strengthening the Atlanta community.
AJC President Mindy Selig-Schoulberg announced, “The National Human Relations Award is one of AJC’s highest honors, celebrating individuals whose vision, service, and leadership advance the values of pluralism, inclusion and human relations. Waller’s distinguished career has made a lasting impact on Atlanta and beyond.”
Waller currently serves as executive director of the Atlanta Committee for Progress (ACP), a coalition of CEOs, university presidents, and civic leaders dedicated to advancing economic growth and opportunity throughout the city. Prior to joining ACP, she spent more than three decades with The Coca-Cola Company, culminating in her role as chief financial officer and president of enabling services. During her tenure, she led the company’s global finance, technical, and shared services organizations and became a highly respected voice among investors, shareholders, and community leaders. She also founded Coca-Cola’s Women’s Leadership Council, helping foster leadership opportunities for women across the organization.
Beyond her corporate accomplishments, Waller has devoted herself to service through board leadership and volunteerism. She currently serves on numerous boards, including Delta Air Lines, CGI Group, Spelman College, The Woodruff Arts Center, United Way of Greater Atlanta, Atlanta History Center, Achieve Atlanta, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Giving Kitchen, and Exco Leadership Group. Her dedication to strengthening educational, cultural, and civic institutions has been felt throughout the region.
The award dinner will bring together many of Atlanta’s foremost business and civic leaders in celebration of Waller’s achievements and enduring contributions to the community. Leading this year’s event is Honorary Chair John M. Haupert, president and CEO of Grady Health System.
Serving as Dinner Chairs are: Ed Bastian, chief executive officer, Delta Air Lines; Frank Blake, former chairman and CEO, The Home Depot. Serving as Tribute Chairs are: Virginia Hepner, former CEO, Woodruff Arts Center; Hala Moddelmog, president and CEO, Woodruff Arts Center; Ingrid Saunders Jones, The Coca-Cola Company (retired).
