Hadassah Foundation Welcomes Haynor to National Board
Lisa Haynor is a tireless volunteer who has served in various positions and on several boards in Atlanta.
The Hadassah Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) foundation, is a national United States-based organization with an international grant focus. It was established by Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, in 1998. The Foundation leads the movement to revolutionize the role, perception, and impact of women and girls. It seeks to refocus the priorities concerning women and girls through creative grantmaking. Hadassah believes that advancing gender equity in Israel and the United States through collective funding, relationship building and education, will foster lasting change. The Hadassah Foundation’s mission can be explained with three words: justice, equity, change.
Terry Nordin, president of Hadassah Greater Atlanta, proudly announced, “We are thrilled that Lisa Haynor, a resident of Sandy Springs, was invited to be a member of the National Hadassah Foundation Board. Lisa is a tireless volunteer who has served in various positions and on several boards in Atlanta, including the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, The Davis Academy, Jewish HomeLife, and the Jewish Women’s Fund of Atlanta. She is a retired partner from Aprio Advisory Group.
Haynor explains, “I am honored to become a board member of the Hadassah Foundation. I am pleased to say that our programs and grants elevate and empower women and girls in leadership roles as we support organizations, initiatives, and bold ideas that create real and lasting social change.”
Recent 2026 Hadassah Foundation grants include The Dinah Project, a legal initiative dedicated to exposing, monitoring, and advancing criminal accountability for sexual violence perpetrated against women during the Oct. 7, 2023, attack and the subsequent period of captivity. Next, Kumi-SheRise is a project of Amutat 51, Supersonas, and the Western Negev Regional Cluster that promotes grassroots women’s leadership to rehabilitate the Israeli communities most hurt by Oct. 7 and the ensuing war. Another grant recipient is Ma’at, the only Israeli organization that helps victims of web-based sex crimes by assisting them in identifying their offenders and pursuing appropriate legal action. Also, a multi-year Core Grant was given to QueenB, a non-profit organization focused on increasing female representation in the high-tech sector in Israel. It empowers young women to pursue computer science and engineering, with a focus on building confidence, not just technical skills.
The Hadassah Foundation has awarded over $12 million to more than 1200 organizations. It is a founding member of the Jewish Women’s Funding Network, which brings together the boards and staff of 18 Jewish women’s foundations. The mission of this network is to promote meaningful giving and to improve philanthropy in the Jewish world.”
