KAI Fusion to Debut Next Year

The Asian restaurant is the latest offering from Selig Enterprises.

Selig Enterprises expects KAI Fusion to be one of Buckhead’s premier dining destinations.

Of late, Buckhead has gotten the short shrift in new dining venues, shadowing Midtown and the Beltline. However, homegrown Selig Enterprises plays both ends with dynamism in multi turfs.

Most recently, they renovated The Block at Phipps and plan to open KAI Fusion, an Asian restaurant, in the summer of 2027, occupying the prominent corner location along Peachtree Road in one of Atlanta’s busiest retail and dining corridors.

Selig Enterprises, which is always reinventing itself, like its Epicurean Hotel, will have 7,000 glamorous square feet for KAI Fusion, in the old Iron Hill Brewery, under restaurateur Sam Dong.

Shirley Gouffon, senior vice president at Selig, said, “Sam’s track record of creating successful restaurant concepts is very impressive, and he brings the same thoughtful vision to KAI Fusion. This restaurant will be a significant addition to The Block at Phipps and a great complement to Buckhead’s dining scene.”

KAI’s menu will showcase a contemporary blend of Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and other pan-Asian cuisines, featuring fresh sushi, dim sum, Thai specialties, and chef-driven signature dishes. There will also be an expansive craft cocktail program centered around a full-service bar and an 18-foot sushi counter designed as the restaurant’s focal point.

Dong’s culinary journey began after immigrating from China to the United States at age 19. Over the past two decades, he has built successful restaurant concepts while refining his expertise in Japanese cuisine. His career has dotted through New York, Ohio, Miami, and Philadelphia, where he operated acclaimed restaurants, including Green Papaya and Yume Sushi. He and wife, Dia, will lead the new venture.

Designed to accommodate intimate dinners and larger celebrations, KAI Fusion will include a spacious main dining room, a semi-private event space and an indoor-outdoor layout featuring operable windows and patio seating.
