The Lowdown: Mindy Selig

I Bet You Didn’t Know that … Mindy’s daughters call her “Minderella.”

Mindy Selig

Have fun with “The Lowdown,” a column spotlighting some local “movers and shakers” – some bent on creativity, empire building, activism and/or just plain celebrating living the good life.

Mindy Selig, principal and co-CEO, is the fourth generation to lead the family’s real estate company, Selig Enterprises. Mindy’s career experience has focused on curating experiential, urban mixed-use developments focused primarily on community. To date, one of her proudest accomplishments is The Works, an 80-acre mixed use, re-adaptive project that was the vision of her late brother, Scott Selig.

In addition to real estate, she is passionate about her involvement in community organizations like Rotary, The Buckhead Coalition, and Camp Sunshine. She is currently president of the American Jewish Committee and co-chair of The Temple’s capital campaign. Additionally, she sits on the boards of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and the Carter Center. In 2022, she was named Atlanta Magazine’s “Woman of Influence” and, in 2025, she was named to the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Women of Influence list. She is a 2024 alumni of Leadership Atlanta. Mindy’s greatest love is her family and two Bernedoodles!

Read on to see why she’s called “Minderella.”

Jaffe: Greatest extravagance?
Selig: My first piece of art — a Todd Murphy (no regrets).

Jaffe: What are you listening to or streaming?
Selig: Dan Senor’s “Call Me Back,” and pretending I’m not fully obsessed with “Landman.”

Jaffe: I’m happiest when …
Selig: In Hilton Head with my family and nowhere to be.

Jaffe: What’s a talent you wish you had?
Selig: Anything musical. Singing or dancing would be a win.

Jaffe: My kids say I’m …
Selig: A party planner at heart — known for the little details and, of course, the “Mindy touch.”

Jaffe: I’m often mistaken for …
Selig: Cinderella – My girls call me “Minderella”- say no more!

Jaffe: Real estate in Atlanta is like …
Selig: Real estate here is like college football — loyal fans, fierce rivalries, and everyone thinks their neighborhood is No. 1.

Jaffe: The best advice I ever received from my dad was …
Selig: Simple but enduring: be available, invest in relationships, and never forget that your reputation is everything.
