Urbach Runs for Governor

Marc Alan Urbach, who last year was an official write-in candidate for president in Georgia, has announced that he is running in 2018 as a Republican to become Georgia’s first Jewish governor.

The primaries for governor and other statewide elections are May 22.

Among other policies, the former Gwinnett County history teacher advocates running the state’s public schools without federal funding or involvement, instituting a tax credit for businesses that fund college scholarships for students who commit to work for those businesses after graduation, teaching the Bible as an elective course in public schools, eliminating the state income tax and building a high-speed rail system crisscrossing the state.
