After completing their first year at the Torah Day School of Atlanta, 38 kindergarten students took part in a graduation ceremony on Tuesday, June 12 at Congregation Beth Jacob.
In their first year, the kids learn how to read in Hebrew and how to count money, and they participate in a program that teaches them the values of friendship and empathy. The graduates also possess a strong grasp of the parshah (weekly Torah portion) and can name people from each. TDSA provides a commitment to learning every day and offers a learning program over the summer that already has 25 kids signed up.
Part of the TDSA mission is to create lifelong learners. Many of the students will remain with the school until they become eighth-graders.
