Israel Solidarity Event Thursday Night

Tonight’s prayer vigil for Israel at Congregation Beth Tefillah has the backing of Orthodox, Conservative and Reform congregations, in addition to the Israeli Consulate.

In addition to Beth Tefillah and fellow Chabad of Georgia affiliates Chabad of Cobb and Chabad Israeli Center Atlanta, the following synagogues had signed on as event partners by Wednesday afternoon: Congregation Beth Shalom, Congregation B’nai Torah, Congregation Or Hadash, the New Toco Shul, The Temple, Temple Sinai and Young Israel of Toco Hills. Also involved are Atlanta Jewish Academy and the Marcus Jewish Community Center.

Israeli Consul General Judith Varnai Shorer and Deputy Consul General Ron Brummer are planning to attend.

The solidarity event starts at 8 p.m. at Beth Tefillah, 5065 High Point Road, Sandy Springs.

Also being planned is a rally Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at CNN Center in downtown Atlanta. More than 130 people have indicated on Facebook that they plan to attend the event, organized by Aaron Holder with Ronen Asher Isaac Kessler.
