Turtle Island Quartet to Perform at MJCCA Jan. 24

MJCCA Arts & Culture is pleased to present a JAZZ AT THE JCC concert, featuring the Grammy Award-Winning Turtle Island Quartet (featuring jazz string quartet masterpieces) on Sunday, January 24 at 7:00 pm. For music lovers of all ages. The concert will be held in the MJCCA’s Morris & Rae Frank Theatre, 5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody. The Two-time GRAMMY^® winning Turtle Island Quartet brings their signature groove-based rhythmic techniques to transform classic selections from the recording of Birth of the Cool into jazz string quartet masterpieces. The program will also feature original compositions that share the cross-genre musical stamp, endemic to this hallowed mode of jazz music making. Malcolm Parson, currently of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, will join Turtle Island in January, bringing his unique classical/folk sound to this world-class evening of music.
