Dear Friends,

The Atlanta Jewish Film Festival (AJFF), which includes our professional team and Board of Directors, is profoundly affected by the horrific events unfolding in Israel. We stand united with the community in our collective shock, outrage, and heartfelt grief.

As a cultural organization, AJFF occupies a unique space, typically allowing films and the film artists to be our voice. However, the magnitude and brutality of these events compel us to speak out. At the heart of AJFF, our mission is to enlighten diverse communities and foster deeper social and cultural understanding through cinematic storytelling. The attack on Israel contrasts sharply with this ideal. Since its inception, AJFF has showcased Israeli cinema for its multifaceted, introspective, and refined artistry, reflecting Israel’s democratic strength and vibrant spirit.

Our hearts ache for the loss of life, and our thoughts remain with everyone impacted by this crisis, including our Israeli colleagues in the film industry. We remain unwavering in our commitment to fostering empathy and insight through the cinematic arts, all while highlighting Israel’s central place in the Jewish narrative.

To stay updated, we recommend following developments through our Founder and Partner, the American Jewish Committee (AJC).

In sympathy and solidarity,

Kenny Blank, Executive & Artistic Director, Atlanta Jewish Film Society, Inc.
