Jewish Atlantan Lauren Kaufman, one of the co-founders of Atlanta’s own Goza Tequila, will appear Tuesday night, July 11, on the Bravo reality show “Below Deck Mediterranean.”
The episode, filmed in September, will premiere at 9 p.m.
The television show, which is in its second season, follows crew members who work and live on a 150-foot mega-yacht during the charter season in Croatia, as well as guests who come aboard.
Kaufman, who responded to a casting call to appear on the show, said any extra exposure Goza Tequila gets as a result is a happy accident.
“It was a great way to get the tequila out there, but doing the show was totally for fun,” she said. “It was just a really fun experience and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
She did, however, bring a few bottles of Goza aboard. During the trip she hosted a tequila pairing and dinner on the yacht, although she isn’t sure whether that experience will make it into the episode.
Kaufman appeared on the show with a few friends. Viewers were briefly introduced to them at the end of the previous episode, which premiered June 27. She said she’s both excited and nervous to see how this episode turns out.
“I haven’t seen the episode yet, so it’s going to be a surprise for everybody,” she said. “We definitely had a good time on the boat, and tequila was being served, so you know what they say about tequila. … But it was a great time, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
After the episode, Kaufman said, she will be in the audience of “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen as he interviews two cast members, deckhand Max Hagley and stewardess Lauren Cohen.
