Renee Evans of Milton is one of three new national board members the Hadassah Foundation announced March 14.

“These outstanding women are poised to make a strong contribution to our already energetic board,” board chair Julie Morris said in an announcement.

The foundation augments the work of Hadassah by making grants to help women and girls in Israel and the United States effect social change.

In 2018, the Hadassah Foundation will distribute grants of $500,000 to nonprofit organizations, adding to more than $8.1 million given out since 1999.

Evans has been an educator in Georgia, Texas and Florida, including at Florida State University. Her volunteer involvement includes the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, American Jewish Committee and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee.

She joins Livia Asher of Wisconsin and Tracey Spiegelman of Florida as newcomers on the board.
