To the Editor,
I’m writing as a Jewish woman who deeply values Jewish community, culture, and storytelling. I appreciate how the Atlanta Jewish Times highlights real people and real experiences that often don’t get enough attention.
As Jews, we’ve always believed in bearing witness, in honoring everyday lives, and in passing stories from one generation to the next. That’s why I feel it’s important to speak up and share perspectives that reflect who we are today — not just historically, but as living, evolving people.
I hope the Atlanta Jewish Times continues to spotlight voices that celebrate resilience, creativity, and the dignity of work and community. These stories matter, especially now.
Thank you for all you do to keep Jewish voices visible and connected.
Warmly,
Sheryl Bassman, Southport, N.C.
