How can we begin to describe heaven‛s newest angel? Bernard (Bubba) Ulman became that angel on May 15. He was born in Savannah, Ga., on Nov. 10 to Elizabeth and Julius Ulman. A tribute article was written in The Jewish Times about him celebrating his very special birthday along with the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the synagogue in Rome, Ga. (Rodeph Sholom). He was the first bar mitzvah in the new building. He grew up in Rockmart, Ga. He was honorably discharged from the Army as a corporal during World War II. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1950 with a degree in industrial engineering.

He led a magnificent life filled with family, faith, and lives he always touched. He was a gentleman and a gentle man. We are all so blessed he was our dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He was brilliant…a true walking Google. Almost every day, he wanted to find out something new. He loved staying connected to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He always wanted to hear what they were doing.

He loved to sing and remembered the words to almost every song he sang from his childhood until now. He loved the funny papers (comics). He adored telling stories to his family about his past, his family, and anything else he could remember. They were so colorful and addicting. We felt like we were right there with him.

His faith was unbreakable. It meant so much to him and he shared that with his family. He walked the walk and talked the talk of honesty, kindness, and love.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Linda (and Bill Frank), Robyn (and Mike Geller), and Alan Ulman. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren and their spouses: Angie (Jim), Adam, Arielle (Haden), Jennifer (David), Jonathan (Kelsey), Madison (Jacob), Jacob, and Wendy. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Hailey, Hannah, Lily, Kaleigh, Olivia, Josie, Luna, Nate, Nikki, and Izzie. He is survived by his special friend, BettyAnn Shusterman, and her loyal and devoted children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Julius Ulman, and brother, Stanley Ulman.

In honor of Bubba‛s memory today, please say a prayer for him and do an act of kindness.
