Brian Jay Sherman died July 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Brian was born in Atlanta on Nov. 9, 1966. He graduated from Briarcliff High School and attended the University of Georgia, where he was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. It was in college that he met Beth Lindy, and they married in 1995. Brian’s pride and joy were their two children, Jamie and Eric. He returned to school and earned his MBA from Mercer University. Brian enjoyed a long career in the waste and recycling industry, where he helped make our world a cleaner place to live. One of Brian’s greatest accomplishments was saving the life of a young boy in Orange Beach, Ala. When the child got caught in a rip tide, Brian swam out and held the flailing child above water until help arrived and rescued them both. Brian was a funny, light-hearted, courageous, and caring man who will be deeply missed.

Brian is also survived by his mother, Linda Sherman, brother, Cary (Sandi) Sherman, and nephews, Brandon and Jason Sherman. He was preceded in death by his loving father, Leonard Sherman.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J Fox Foundation or to Temple Emanu-El.

The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, at Arlington Memorial Park. Shiva was held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, and Thursday, July 9, at the home of Beth Sherman at 4584 Chardonnay Court, Dunwoody, GA. Arrangements by Dressler’s Jewish Funeral Care, 770-451-4999.
