Solomon Brothers Fine Jewelry Expands North

Solomon Brothers opened its second location Oct. 18, bringing its sparkling wares to Alpharetta.

After 37 years with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and now with the AJT, , Jaffe’s focus is lifestyle, art, dining, fashion, and community events with emphasis on Jewish movers and shakers.

The new second floor showroom has 5,000 square feet, similar to the flagship Buckhead location.

Buckhead jeweler Solomon Brothers is taking its sparkle to Alpharetta with a second location, which opened Oct. 18. Founded in 1982 by South African-born brothers Ivan, Howard and Anthony Solomon, the stores are now run by Ivan’s son and current president Jaron Solomon, alongside his wife Alli.

This new store on Old Milton Parkway is eager to expand geographically and offers the same service and jewelry expertise as the original store in Buckhead’s Tower Place. The Solomons are known for engagement rings, wedding bands, loose diamonds and custom designs.

Jaron said, “We did a lot of market research before we decided on Alpharetta and pulled from our knowledge of what worked well in Buckhead for this market. We listened to our clients, … making it more convenient for many of them to have a better experience with us as they will be traveling a lot less. Plus, with the proximity to Avalon and its success, it was an easy fit.”

Greeting guests at the grand opening preview event for their Alpharetta location are Anthony, Jaron, Rayna (Jaron’s mother) and Alli Solomon.

The wildly successful Avalon development, minutes off Georgia 400, has an upscale demographic amid a Whole Foods, multiscreen movie theatre, Rumi’s Kitchen, luxury hotel, dozens of retail businesses, and premium multifamily residential. It’s a state-of-the-art live-work-play environment.

With his “younger attitude” and business acumen, Jaron is committed to promoting the growth of the Solomon brand in taking the 35-plus year business to the next level with this expansion, plus next year’s renovation of the flagship Buckhead store. Another strategy to expand Solomon Brothers is increased social media presence, a less traditional means of promoting jewelry. Jared remarked, “Social media is something that’s really important in this age of business. It opens up our message to a new generation.”

The Alpharetta store’s atmosphere is ultra-contemporary, offering live games on the TVs in-store, and liquid refreshments. Alli, who was involved in the décor and design, said, “The new space will evoke a sleek, youthful feel with a refreshed look complete with natural light, impressive display stations, private diamond viewing rooms and an in-store bar that will serve selections of beer, wine and champagne. The showroom will also don TV screens displaying gem and diamond-focused educational content for customers to view while browsing.”

A display of emerald jewelry is part of the modern showroom.

On a sad note, Jaron paused to remember his late father Ivan, who passed away three years ago. “This all came about because of him. I most remember two principles Dad instilled in us about the business: honesty and customer service.”
The Alpharetta showroom is at 2500 Old Milton Parkway, with 5,000 square feet on the second story. Solomon Brothers Alpharetta will have the same hours as Buckhead Tower Place, opening at 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon on Sundays. For more information, visit www.solomonbrothers.com.
