Imagine your dream closet with a place and space for everything. Add Inspired Closets’ inspiration and create a masterpiece that makes being organized a luxurious experience.

This dynamic innovative closet company, new to Atlanta, opened in November to a warm welcome from customers ready for something new. While a decade old, Inspired Closets’ parent company is a 40-year veteran, and nationally known. From kitchen cabinets to media centers, master to kids’ closets, garage closets to laundry rooms and entire houses, the ideas are endless and the outcome is a valuable investment in your home and life.

After 30 years with the Container Store, Inspired Closets owner John Thrailkill wanted to own his own business. Along with his talented wife, Jennifer, they decided to bring the Inspired Closets concept to Atlanta and opened a stunning showroom near the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC) design center next to ADAC West. John thoroughly loved the custom quality part of the Container business and together, with his wife, searched for a concept that’s unique to the closet world. They were instantly impressed with the idea of allowing clients to literally walk in, move around and experience a closet, cabinet or designed space through technology. They found their passion with a clear mission, fusing function and beauty. Inspired Closets elevated the entire space-saving outcome and clients were hooked.

John explained, “Our company demonstrates our well-designed plans reflecting a client’s needs, vision, and dreams, and we present it at our showroom near ADAC on a big screen with a 3-D view. It’s not just a design, but rather, it’s an opportunity in real time to meet our product. Mix a 3-D movie with a live action film perusing through the gallery and you get an inspired closet. You get the feel and understanding of space and a true-to-life experience. With an augmented reality headset on, you can move through your closet, feel and experience our product and realize the actual space to scale and you’ll feel like you’re in the closet. We take underutilized spaces and transform the clutter, chaos and space into something truly beautiful and functional.”

John said, “We loved the technology and when I first looked at the closet business, this approach was the best idea I had seen for a custom closet company. What struck me was the quality and design mantra evolving around the customers’ need. When you first put on the headset, you experience how the augmented reality allows you to see your own feet, the ceiling and space around you which is user-friendly. With an Inspired Closet, customers gain organization and more control in their life and see the value in saving time and frustration.”

Regarding their stunning finishes, which look beautiful in all décor styles, John explained, “We use a thermo-fused laminate – the finish is melted into the engineered board, and the benefit is that it does not scratch, peel, it’s resilient and water resistant with a lifetime warranty. Our warranty includes the hardware, drawer glides and door hinges. There are 26 colors, from solid to patterns and imprinted impressions that give the feel of natural wood with the benefits of engineered products that do not warp. A well-designed cabinet or closet saves frustration from not being able to quickly find and get to what you need. Inspired closets is selling you back some time and a reduction in stress. These space saving designs will last years and years with a great payback and the desire to improve their home.”

From entire homes to apartments and second homes, Inspired Closets meets with each customer on site to listen, get to know your goals and allow you to experience their finishes and ideas in your own space. Popular themes they specialize in include primary closets that are used the most. Masterful makeovers include redesigning pantries for reach-in or walk-in efficiency.
