The Dupree Conference and Education Center announced the appointment of Dana Sender Mulla as its founding executive director, effective June 2026. An accomplished leader with more than two decades of experience designing and scaling global initiatives, Sender Mulla brings a track record of strengthening communities, developing others, and fostering collaboration across diverse sectors.

“Dana’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for The Dupree,” said Joel Marks, board chair. “She brings a rare combination of vision, operational experience, and deep commitment to Jewish identity, Israel, and education. We are confident that under her leadership, The Dupree will continue to grow as a transformative force for Jewish life in the Metro Atlanta community and beyond.”

Sender Mulla served as director of leadership development at Momentum, a global movement of Jewish women dedicated to strengthening Jewish communities and deepening connections to Israel. Previously, she founded and directed Momentum in Israel and served as director of Garin Tzabar International, supporting young adults from around the world who choose to serve in the Israel Defense Forces.

In 2006, she founded Tzemach, an Israeli educational nonprofit organization that reaches thousands of high school and university students annually. She is also a co-founder and board member of Zikaron Ba’Salon, Israel’s largest social action movement focused on Holocaust remembrance, and a co-founder of the Israel-Diaspora Coalition. She is a Schusterman Foundation International Fellow, a former Global Shaper with the World Economic Forum, and a member of the ROI Community. Sender Mulla holds a master of arts in public and political leadership and a bachelor of arts in liberal arts from Tel Aviv University. She has also pursued advanced executive and leadership training through Harvard Kennedy School, the International School for Jewish Peoplehood Studies, Gishot, and Lahav Executive Education at Tel Aviv University.

Although she has never lived in the Deep South, Atlanta has held a special place for her. During her years directing Garin Tzabar, she visited here annually and met families preparing to make Aliyah.

“Even back then, I walked away with a distinct feeling of just how unique, warm, and deeply committed this community is,” she reflected. “I am honored and humbled to serve as the founding executive director of The Dupree. Building a center dedicated to meaningful Jewish learning, leadership, and connection to Israel is deeply personal to me — it reflects my values and my own sense of personal and professional purpose. I look forward to working alongside partners and community members to cultivate a vibrant space for growth, reflection, and a deepened sense of identity.”

Sabra Sender Mulla was raised in Herzliya and spent time living in communities across Israel’s north, south, and central regions. She lived in Singapore from ages 12 to 16, attending an international school that exposed her to a multicultural world. During that time, she also volunteered as a young ambassador for the Israeli Consulate. After returning to Israel, she served as an officer in the Israel Defense Forces for 3½ years and in the reserves for an additional 9 years, ultimately receiving an honorable discharge as captain.

Outside of her professional work, Sender Mulla is an avid reader and lifelong “bookworm.” She also enjoys cooking and baking, especially bringing people together around a shared meal.

Even back then, I walked away with a distinct feeling of just how unique, warm, and deeply committed this community is.

“For me, breaking bread is the ultimate opportunity for genuine connection,” she said. She is equally passionate about travel and exploring the outdoors. One of the exciting aspects of her move is the opportunity to discover Georgia’s natural beauty. Dana and husband, Noam, have four children, ages between 5 to 12.

“We are so excited to move to Atlanta, plant our roots, and become an active part of this community,” she said. “We can’t wait to meet new families and make lifelong friends.”

The Dupree serves as a dynamic hub of Jewish community in Metro Atlanta. The center is home to robust Jewish and Israel educational programming, conference spaces, major Jewish organizations, including the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, Hillels of Georgia, and a new kosher café. Through classes, lectures, and engaging programs, The Dupree provides opportunities to explore Jewish values, history, modern Israel, spirituality, and the important issues facing the Jewish people today.
