Metro Atlanta Community Mikvah welcome Atlanta-based artist Flora Rosefsky as the newest featured artist in its gallery space. An opening reception for Rosefsky’s solo exhibition, “REFLECTIONS: The Art of Flora Rosefsky,” will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 19 with an artist talk at 5 p.m.

The show concentrates primarily on Rosefsky’s Jewish ritual work and series of birds, “Songs of Praise.” An original collage, “Ritual Immersion,” was created specifically for the exhibit.

Rosefsky draws with scissors, paper, pigments and ephemera (photos, letters and memorabilia) to create intimate, one-of-a-kind works of art.

According to Jocelyn Schorvitz, MACoM’s executive director, Rosefsky’s whimsical cutouts and mixed media pieces dance with color that brim with emotion.  Often inspired by her Jewish heritage, Rosefsky’s work also interweaves her secular world with a unique spirituality.

MACoM, www.atlantamikvah.org, is located at 700-A Mt. Vernon Highway, Atlanta, Ga. 30328. A portion of the proceeds will benefit MACoM. To RSVP, contact info@atlantamikvah.org.
