Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, a meat and seafood restaurant supplier announced Monday it will provide home delivery service.

Kirk Halpern, founder and CEO of Farmers & Fishermen Purveyors in Norcross, said that his company would immediately begin home delivery service of steaks, chicken, and seafood to Greater Atlanta residents who are remaining in their homes as they exercise social distancing.

The company was founded in July to service local chef-owned and operated restaurants with meat and seafood products. “We will continue dine in and curbside service to area restaurants as long as health officials allow. We recognize that there is a need to take care of the consumer who needs to stay home for an extended period of time,” Halpern said in a press release.

“We have quickly adopted a model where our highly trained sales staff can work directly with the consumer to arrange for restaurant-quality meat and seafood to be delivered to their homes. We operate a fleet of refrigerated Mercedes Sprinter vans that transport the home deliveries.  Our drivers are FFP employees and they have been fully trained and certified on safe handling of products. During deliveries they will be wearing mask coverings and latex gloves. Products can be dropped at the door,” he said.

“Admittedly, we are new to the e-commerce market and are much better meat and seafood professionals. … Our goal is to help as many people as we can during these turbulent times,” Halpern added.
