Hadassah Southeastern Holds Annual Installation

Hadassah Southeastern Region recently held its annual installation and meeting on Jan. 11, on Zoom. The installation was conducted by Dr. Rachel Schonberger. This region is the home to nearly 6,000 members and supporters throughout Georgia, South Carolina and western North Carolina, with a diverse mix of experience, ages and backgrounds.

The event included an engaging webinar featuring leading voices offering strategies on tackling the surge on antisemitism. The panel was comprised of Dov Wilker, American Jewish Committee regional director, Rabbi Elizabeth Bahar, Temple Beth Israel in Macon, Ga., and Diana Diner, National Hadassah Zionist educator.

Paula Zucker, president of the Southeastern Region, proudly announced, “The leading journal, Nature, just named Hadassah Medical Organization the No. 1 hospital in Israel for scientific output. The publication, Nature Index, also ranks Hadassah among the top 200 hospitals worldwide.”

During the period 2024-2025 the Hadassah Medical Organization was the most prolific producer of articles on the clinical sciences, oncology and carcinogenesis, microbiology, genetics, cardiovascular medicine, hematology, and many other areas.

Dr. Eyal Mishani, who has overseen Hadassah’s research program for two decades, gives credit for the hospital system’s success to its staff who “focus on the hottest areas of research on every sphere of medicine you can think of.”

Simone Wilker, advocacy chair for Hadassah Greater Atlanta, explains, “Without the support of Hadassah here in Atlanta and the entire United States, we wouldn’t have been able to establish research centers in Israel that are changing the face of medicine.”
