Jared Almost Fumbled the Bumble

Jared Parker and Lindsey Rottner married this past May despite their 2022 “almost match” on Bumble, where high school coach Parker accidentally swiped the wrong way.

Fortunately, he remembered Lindsey’s Instagram “handle” and followed her. Lindsey recognized him from the app and decided to go ahead and send the first message: “Hey Coach Parker.”

What started as a simple conversation quickly turned into a faster pace. Spending more time together, they discovered a shared love of family, travel, and building a life centered on meaningful relationships. Jared said, “Through holidays, celebrations, and everyday moments, our bond continued to grow stronger.”

On Feb. 22, 2025, atop Ponce City Market, Jared proposed overlooking the skyline. This private setting made for meaningful time together. Lindsey recalls these precious few moments with “just them” before sharing the news. After Lindsey said, “yes”, they made their way to a surprise engagement celebration where close family members and friends were waiting to celebrate. She recalled, “The evening was filled with excitement, laughter, and happy tears as the group gathered to toast our future.”

Wedding planner Alexa of Alexa Eve Events worked closely with the couple to make things elegant and still personal. Because Jared was busy coaching his first season as Kennesaw Mountain High School’s head baseball coach, Lindsey took the lead on many of the planning details while keeping him involved in the major decisions. The Grand Hyatt Atlanta was the perfect setting for their vision. Located in the heart of their “home turf,” they thought it offered “a timeless atmosphere and sparkling ballroom” that reflected the style they envisioned.

Alexa relayed, “It was my honor to pull every detail together as the full-service wedding planner. Lindsey was one of my sweetest brides, as Jared was among the loveliest grooms. It was indeed a magical wedding. I pulled together all of the vendors knowing what would be a perfect fit for them.”

On May 30, 2026, 190 guests came to celebrate their marriage. Temple Sinai Rabbi Brad Levenberg officiated at the ceremony, which Lindsey described as “filled with joy, love, and meaningful traditions.”

The reception bloomed with classic white florals by JLD Designs, including hydrangeas and orchids that transformed the ballroom into an elegant backdrop. Personal touches throughout honored cutesy schnauzer, Piper, whose likeness appeared in unexpected places.

Guests danced the night away to Rupert’s Orchestra. A highlight was the couple’s choreographed first dance to “If I Ain’t Got You,” by Alicia Keys. After taking lessons together, Lindsey and Jared surprised guests with a performance that reflected their personalities and the joy of the occasion.

The wedding cake, created by Jeffrey Schwerzler of Frosted Pumpkin, featured chocolate salted caramel and vanilla white chocolate mousse flavors alongside custom drink stirrers and matchboxes. Eternal Films did the videography. Brushworx was on hand for hair and makeup.

The bridesmaids wore elegant light baby blue gowns that complemented the soft, timeless aesthetics that Lindsey wanted. Each dress had its own unique silhouette, creating a personalized look while remaining cohesive. Carrying classic white bouquets, Lindsey was surrounded by these excited and joyous friends. Lindsey’s vision for her own entrance was “timeless and sophisticated.” She wore a strapless gown with a clean, modern silhouette and delicate buttons cascading down the back.

“Together, those soft blue dresses, white florals, and natural beauty created a romantic and classic atmosphere that felt both refined and heartfelt,” recalled Lindsey.

Lindsey attended Johns Creek High School and graduated from the University of Georgia. She built a career as a healthcare recruiter and enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling, and romping with canine sidekick, Piper. Raised in East Cobb, Jared attended Pope High School, where he played on a state championship baseball team, and later graduated from the University of Alabama. He’s a teacher and head baseball coach at Kennesaw Mountain High School, combining his passions for education and athletics.

Lindsey is the daughter of Michael Rottner and Melissa Woodward, and Jared is the son of Michael and Lauren Parker.

After the wedding, the newlyweds set sail on a European honeymoon cruise from Rome to Barcelona.
