Memorial Service for Janice Rothschild Blumberg is March 11

A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. on March 11 at The Temple, with a reception to follow in Schwartz-Goldstein Hall.

Janice Rothschild Blumberg, a fixture in and prominent supporter of the Atlanta Jewish community, sadly passed away on Feb. 21, just eight days after her 100th birthday.

Janice, wife of former Temple Rabbi Jacob Rothschild, was integral in helping the community heal from the devastating effects of The Temple bombing in 1958. Her positive presence loomed large over Jewish Atlanta, as she served to steward the community forward while also chronicling the community’s past.

A private graveside service was held Thursday, Feb. 22. Shiva was held at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 22 at The Temple, and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Feb. 24 and Feb. 25 at the Rothschild residence.

A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. on March 11 at The Temple, with a reception to follow in Schwartz-Goldstein Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who wish to make a donation kindly consider the Rothschild Social Justice Institute Fund of The Temple, the Southern Jewish Historical Society, or The Breman Museum.
