Sharon “Cookie” Draluck, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026.
Sharon “Cookie” Draluck, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026. Cookie was born in Atlanta on June 23, 1933, to Irving and Elsie Levy. She was a fixture in the Atlanta Jewish community and never met a stranger, mostly because they were likely to be a cousin. An avid card player, world traveler, and crocheter, she also spent time as a regular volunteer with Atlanta’s Jewish organizations, including Hadassah, the Atlanta Jewish Home and The Epstein School. Above all else, she loved her family and celebrating special occasions and holidays together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Draluck. She is survived by her brother, Stanford “Butch” Levy (Andrea), and brother and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Barbara Draluck, and Harriet Draluck, children, Lori Struletz (Allan), Jerry Draluck (Enid), Betsy Popkin (Mark), grandchildren, Adam Struletz (Michael Grad), Scott Struletz (Sophie), Jeffrey Draluck (Erica), Ilana Lind (Jonathan), and Shira Porter (Tyler). She was also fortunate to have great-grandchildren, Abe Struletz, Mia and Bailey Lind, James Tyler and Ellis Porter and Lucy Draluck.
Graveside services were held July 3, 2026, at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, with Rabbi Melvin Sirner officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements by Dressler’s Jewish Funeral Care, 770-451-4999.
