Kollel Salutes Abe Levine
The Atlanta Scholars Kollel honored businessman Abe Levine for his contributions to the synagogue March 5.

Family, friends and Atlanta Scholars Kollel sponsors gathered at the Westin Buckhead on Sunday night, March 5, for a tribute program honoring businessman Abe Levine, who most recently donated the aron kodesh (ark) to the kollel Toco Hills study hall.
Levine’s three sons and only brother came from distant points to speak about his modest and generous nature. Brother Yale called him a “man of valor,” and his sons said he has always been there for them and instilled Jewish values.
The sons’ words were made all the more poignant when Levine himself, teary-eyed, explained that his own father died before he was born. “It’s where we are now that counts,” he said. “I was raised by my single mother, grandparents, aunt and uncle with the three hallmarks of Judaism: kindness, generosity and charity.”
Kollel Rabbi Michoel Lipschutz, who studies with Levine, said he is a deep thinker with a golden heart. The rabbi presented Levine with a photograph of his late parents superimposed on the ark.
Earlier, during a lavish appetizer buffet and cocktail hour, Levine said: “Kollel does all the heaving lifting. I am honored and pleased to be here tonight.”
Levine is the chief financial officer and vice president of Adams Outdoor Advertising. He has established an endowment fund for Atlanta Jewish Academy students offering subsidies for the eighth-grade trip to Israel, as well as a scholarship fund to enable public school students to attend Jewish day school.
