Obituary: Israel Nelkin
A native of Savannah, he founded The Nelkin Real Estate Co.
Israel Nelkin, 92, passed away peacefully Friday night, March 16, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pola; children Brenda (Jed) Zachs, Mark (Nancy) Nelkin and Debbie Oakes; and grandchildren Sarah “Michelle” Nelkin, Rachel V. Nelkin, Joshua E. Nelkin, Carson Oakes, Dylan Oakes and Cheney Oakes.
Born in 1925 in Savanah, he established The Nelkin Real Estate Co., which continues as a thriving family business. Israel was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He cherished his little dogs and was always willing to help others.
