Jerry’s Habima Theatre to Present ‘Mary Poppins JR’
Georgia’s only inclusive theater company showcasing actors with disabilities returns with a whimsical, family-friendly classic.

For over three decades, Jerry’s Habima Theatre at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA) has brought groundbreaking inclusive theater to Georgia, empowering actors with disabilities to entertain and inspire audiences alongside professional theater artists. This season, the beloved program proudly presents its Spring 2026 production of “Mary Poppins JR.,” running March 5 to March 15, at the MJCCA Morris & Rae Frank Theatre. Tickets are now on sale, and this popular production is expected to sell out. Community members are encouraged to purchase tickets early.
“Mary Poppins JR.” follows the whimsical journey of the Banks family and their extraordinary new nanny, Mary Poppins, who uses imagination, wit, common sense, and a bit of magic to help them rediscover the importance of family. Featuring audience favorites like, “A Spoonful of Sugar,” “Chim Chim Cheree,” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” the production promises joy, heart, and unforgettable moments for all ages.
“By partnering with the MJCCA’s drama program, we’re creating a shared experience where adult Habima actors and young performers learn from one another and come together in the spirit of creativity, connection, and community,” said Stephanie Alterman, theater education and drama camps director and Jerry’s Habima theatre producer. “That blend of perspectives and talents is what makes live theater so powerful, and it brings a real sense of beauty and community to the stage.”
New this year, “Mary Poppins JR.” will feature neurotypical children from the MJCCA’s drama program portraying the Banks children. This collaboration brings together Habima’s adult cast and the MJCCA’s youth ensemble performers, adding a new layer of intergenerational storytelling and theatrical collaboration to the production.
