Repairing The World On MLK Day

A total of 23 Jewish organizations and 1,300 volunteers were involved in this year’s MLK Day of Service Jan. 20 coordinated by Repair the World, which creates opportunities for tikkun olam, the Hebrew of its name. Among the activities pictured here: Volunteers from Repair the World, Interfaith Family and Congregation Bet Haverim prepared dinner for 60 young people at Covenant House. Volunteers with Repair the World were among those gathered at Brook Run Park in Dunwoody to plant 200 trees with Trees Atlanta. Children assembled 2,000 kits for the homeless at the Marcus JCC for The Packaged Good. PJ Library organized volunteers to visit with residents of Berman Commons and The Cohen Home. And In The City Camps organized projects at Congregation B’nai Torah, assembled 400 kits for The Ben Massell Dental Clinic and made baby blankets for newborns with the Community Assistance Center.
