Superstars Give Big at Goldstein’s Big Game Party
The 10th annual “Big Game Big Give” pre-Super Bowl soiree delivered a magnificent night at the estate of Carrla and Jeff Goldstein.

If the weather ever gave Atlanta a big break, the “Big Game Big Give” pre-Super Bowl soiree Feb. 2 delivered a touchdown magnificent night at the estate of Carrla and Jeff Goldstein.
Californian Marc Pollick, uber planner and philanthropic consultant, brought in police cars, red carpet, Aston Martin luxury vehicles, and flame dancers for more than 500 guests.
For the 10th year, the pre-Super Bowl charity event raised big bucks for The Giving Back Fund, a national nonprofit that creates and manages charitable foundations and projects for high net worth individuals, celebrities, athletes, business entrepreneurs and corporations. The exclusive star-studded gala was voted the number one Super Bowl party by ESPN.
Host Jeff Goldstein, resplendent in a Ted Baker black and gold patterned jacket, said, “I am pleased to be involved and help raise funds for such great organizations.” Wife Carrla, magnificent in gold Michael Costello and Gucci accessories, was pleased with the crowd size. “Perhaps we oversold it!” Goldstein twins Sydney and Robert were on hand, too, to welcome the younger crowd.
The Goldstein’s rooms were taken over by various top shelf vendors like Trish McEvoy cosmetics, jeweler Akshar Choudree, and Buckhead’s Solomon Brothers jewelers, which donated a diamond necklace (appraised at $65,000), with all proceeds going to the charities. Local art consultant Anthony Naturman lined the walls with magnificent artwork for auction.
More Hollywood effects were on display in the dining room loaded with swag bag goodies and gadgets. The tiered backyard housed food areas, and the mega tent had lavish bars, auction items, and the stage.
Members of the local Jewish community mingled with former mayor and U.N. ambassador Andrew Young, CNN’s Robin Meade, Fox’s Katie Pavlich, local art mega star Kamy Deljou, and entertainers Jamie Foxx, The Black Eyed Peas, Ludacris, CeeLo Green, among others. The Super Bowl has such far-reaching business tentacles that blowing into town were Jews such as New Yorker Eli Lunzer (Eli Lunzer Productions), who has been associated with unique nonprofit events as well as Fortune 500 companies, brands and events including NBA All-Stars, the Masters, the U.S. Open, and Sundance Film Festival. Lunzer stayed in the Toco Hills area and came to the party after sundown. “Super Bowl or no Super Bowl, I took off Friday night and Saturday and missed several events to observe the Sabbath. My players and coworkers understand this,” he said.
Also on hand was Gavriel Friedson, deputy director of international operations for United Hatzalah voluntary cycle ambulances in Israel, one of the night’s beneficiaries.
On the culinary front, local Matt Marcus, chef-owner of Watershed on Peachtree, demonstrated his passion for patronizing area farmers and providers. “I’m focusing on hyper-local, ethically raised beef, rose veal (from a multigenerational farm in Mableton), and vegetables like leafy greens, cucumbers, and mustard frills – many from Bobby Britt’s urban farm in Decatur.” Watershed did a sweet tart apple fruit roll up with a compressed apple ball and local honey. They also served melt-in-your-mouth smoked salmon with caviar and gumbo over potato salad. Wife Christin, mom Annette, and Sherry Jaffe worked alongside a solid team and kept the food flowing.
South African-born Alex Sher sliced beef from his Stone Mountain Cattle Company.
Dessert by the pool was a variety from Nothing Bundt Cakes.
Great attention to detail was taken, such as the artistic silvery cake fantasy creation of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium and a floating swimming pool obelisk alongside scarlet-clad flame jugglers.
Deserving causes are what drove Pollick, The Giving Back Fund’s founder and president. “Big Game Big Give is my personal Super Bowl,” he said. The bottom line is Atlanta’s Jewish community “played ball” with and in the Big League.
