Hospitality guru David Abes, a well-known restaurateur and head of Dash Hospitality Group, made headlines with elaborate plans to create a town center in Dunwoody Village, including a communal courtyard with a stage for live music, four cleverly themed restaurants and an indoor/outdoor bar.

Bar(n) opened in early November to rave reviews — including his own. “Things have been incredible! Every night has been busy, and we had great weather, so the courtyard has been the place to hang out around the fire pits,” Abes said. “Dunwoody has come out in force, and the neighbors have reconnected with each other after so many years. A guest the other night told me this has turned into the Dunwoody ‘Cheers.’”

The most popular items are wrapped dates, pigs in a blanket, chicken lettuce wraps, “The Catch” board, the BBQ chicken flatbread and the Batter Cookie Dough Counter bread pudding. Abes, who lives nearby, said, “We have been very lucky with staff, and they have become family. All have them have a great attitude and are guest focused. The most novel additions are the outdoor screen and stage being installed and ready for New Year’s Eve.”

Stay tuned to see what Abes has up his sleeve. Hint: It could be food trucks or Morty’s Meats, Cucos Cantina or Yoffi. Also, the space could be rented out for corporate events and private parties.
